Osaka Travel Diary 大阪- Trip (2 of 2)

Osaka, known as Japan's kitchen is also the nation's third largest city.
People are obsessed with food and it has been said that Osaka people would spend more on food
than anything else hence the term kuidaore which means "eat-til-you-drop".
Believe me, this place is an absolute food haven.
From delicious cheap eats to the best quality beefs in the world, your real food adventure starts here.
Read more on my Dotonbori post here.

Hotel remm Shin-Osaka is conveniently located directly above the Shin-Osaka train station.
The rooms are small,  common with most Japanese hotels but very impressive and clean.

The bathroom
You can pull the blinds down if you wish.

Most hotels in Japan supply you with fabric and air freshener.

We booked our room with breakfast included. Located just beside the main entrance for the Shinkansen lines,
Kouji cafe-restaurant serves breakfast for guests at remm Shin-Osaka.
You get to choose a main Japanese dish and can pick more at the breakfast buffet.

Buffet selection: Cup Noodles, Meat Balls, Ham, Scrambled Eggs, Salads, Fruits, Juice and more.

Miso

Matcha Breakfast Roll

Seafood and Vegetable Topping with Rice

Grilled Yellow Tail with Teriyaki Sauce

Pork Steak with Glazed Miso Sauce

Japan is never going to run out of vending machines.
The laundry shop is also located not too far from our hotel and the Shin-Osaka station.

I love skimming though flea markets and since it was a weekend there was one just outside the train station.
I bought an agate at a bargain! The seller can speak Mandarin and further reduced the price. Yehey!

One of the most recognizable symbol of Osaka is this historical castle.
The views are beautiful everywhere and the castle is just magnificent.
Go early to avoid the crowds.  If you want to go inside the castle
just bear in mind there are many flights of stairs to climb. There is a lift though
but the line can get ridiculously long.
Don't forget to visit the observatory, it has one the most amazing views around Osaka.

Sachi-kawara, roof tile in the form of a legendary dolphin-like fish.

Inside the castle they have some samurai costumes that you can pay to try on.

Want to try Japan's best and highest grade beef?
Then a visit to Matsusakagyu Yakiniku is a must. Read my blog on it here.
